The most famous sights of the city:
- Maiden's Tower. An ancient fortress building that has become a symbol of the capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The religious building of the pre-Islamic period, according to the assumptions of archaeologists, was a temple of fire.
- Heydar Aliyev Center. The cultural center, which unites the Heydar Aliyev Museum, exhibition halls, and the "Auditorium" congress center, primarily attracts tourists with its unique appearance. Smooth transitions of edges, the absence of sharp corners is the result of the work of a famous architect of our time - Zaha Hadid.
- Old city. The main historical area of Azerbaijan. The most important sights and ancient streets are concentrated here, introducing the spirit of the country. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Maiden Tower, the Shemakha Gate, the Mosque of Muhammad, the Bazaar Square, and other equally important sights have been preserved in this area.
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs. The former residence of the rulers of Shirvan. Eastern palace complex, built between the 13th and 16th centuries.
- Towers of Flame. The highest buildings resembling tongues of flame are the face of modern Azerbaijan. The towers are located on a hill, so a beautiful view of the whole of Baku opens from here. It is highly recommended to visit this place at night.
- Baku Crystal Hall. An unusual sports and concert complex was built in 2012 for the Eurovision Song Contest. The crystal-like building is located by the sea and is especially beautiful for its evening lighting.
How to get from the airport to the Baku center?
Flight Aktau - Baku arrives at the international airport, Heydar Aliyev. You can get to the center of the capital by public transport and taxi.
By bus H1 you can get to the central metro station "Korogly" for $ 0.78. Travel is paid with a BakuCard (BakiKart), which is bought at the entrance to the airport.
You can buy a single-use and reusable card. Disposable, by the way, you can use it 4 times within 45 days or pay for several people at once.
BakuCard machines accept only Azerbaijani manats and only small bills. Don't forget to exchange/withdraw money at the airport.
The duration of the trip is 30 minutes.
